I might at some point take the lid off and reset the RAM cards just in case but I was wondering if it was some kind of software conflict or otherwise. What is really weird is that my BIOS now show that I have 8GB installed, Windows shows that I have 8GB installed, but CPU-Z shows that I have 16GB installed. Windows 7 Home Basic has a max of 8gb. That's the first thing, is the BIOS seeing it.

If it's fairly recent it should run with the full 10GB in Flex mode (would be 8GB in dual and the odd 2 would run single, but will show dual in Computer only recognizing 8GB. I totally agree with you. Especially for a quad setup.

I bought new complete Kingston HyperX Savage DDR3-1600 32gb kit (4x8gb) CL9.
