There were some Profile issues when upgrading from winXP to Win7, but those are already solved now. Either way, I'm not able to access the drive whatsoever now whereas pre-diskcheck I could at least get in and see that files/folders did exist. so it's possible the Antivirus is at least part of the problem. The page file was set to a little over 8500MB in the Windows 10 upgrade, setting the minimum to 400 and the maximim to 1940mb makes a BIG difference!!!
You can either downgrade back to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 (if you installed Windows 10 less than a month ago) or restore Windows 10 to its default settings, removing all I was just worried about some catastrophic failure. at least that worked for me!!!! Do you have GeForce or something different ?
If it didn't work for you the first time, make sure that the custom changes you did actually are being allocated correctly. So, I installed 10, and voila - that issue is gone. Antivirus applications can suffer corruption (even infection) like any other applications, and if so, they can affect system performance more so than probably most applications... Make sure you find the latest drivers available for it…that can make a huge difference when gaming.
