The malicious redirect could be generated by a backdoor. While backdoors are difficult to detect, preventing them is possible. Vulnerabilities in plugins and themes is another issue. it's just not going.
Do it the easier way! Go to your Add Ons in the tool menu, scroll down untill you find "Google Update" and disable it. Keep up the good work! Remove Google Redirect Virus Only ComboFix did it for me.
